Within five minutes, the rhino and hippo met, snuggled up to one another, and Makhosi calmed down. She removed the barrier that separated Makhosi and Charlie’s pens. ![]() In the middle of the night, one of her rescuers got an idea. She was scared in her new home and couldn’t settle down. So the folks from the orphanage rescued her, too. She was just two days old, and her mother wasn’t taking care of her. As nouns the difference between rhinoceros and hippopotamus is that rhinoceros is any of several large herbivorous pachyderms native to africa and asia of. Luckily, rescuers from the Fundimvelo Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, found him and brought him back to their facility to take care of him. Charlie the hippo was abandoned by his family just a few days after he was born. But that doesn’t seem to matter to these two creatures. In the wild, a friendship between a hippo and rhino simply wouldn’t happen. ![]()
